How to make your PINROSE perfumes as persistent as possible.
How to make your PINROSE perfumes as persistent as possible.
Did you know that some fragrance companies use specific additives to make their scents last longer on skin? That’s one way to do it, but at PINROSE we choose not to. Try these “hacks” from Erika Shumate, one of our founders, to make your PINROSE and all perfumes last longer:
Moisturize your skin before applying perfume, either with an unscented lotion or a PINROSE body lotion (it doesn’t have to “match” your scent). Fragrance oils linger longer when they aren’t sucked up by dehydrated skin.
Some scent notes are just fleeting by nature, such as citrus. Notes like sandalwood, vanilla, musk and resins, on the other hand, are often in the drydown of perfumes, as they are naturally excellent fixatives.
“Pulse points” are a thing because they’re warm spots on your body, and the warmer fragrance is on your skin, the more intensely it projects and persists. Your wrists, neck and back of knees are still good spots to put your fragrance.
Two other places to apply perfume are in your hair and the crooks of your elbows – you’re less likely to wash or rub the scent away throughout the day.
Don’t rub your wrists together; the friction can alter the scent. It may be a hard habit to break, but just let the perfume dry without touching it.
